Abdulla Fouad for Medical Supplies & Services Company (AFMS) and QIAGEN have joined forces to contribute to the mission of ending TB in Saudi Arabia. Recently, they organized an engaging and informative event in Riyadh, shedding light on the management of latent TB infection in clinical settings and underscoring the significance of precise testing using the QuantiFERON assay.
The event featured Dr. Fatimah AlSharany, Associated Professor and Head of the Infection Disease unit at King Saud University, who presented compelling evidence of how TB management can be vastly improved by implementing QuantiFERON tests as the first line of testing for Healthcare workers. The results were shown to be significantly better than traditional testing methodologies.
Dr. Vladyslav Nikolayevskyy, Director of Medical Affairs for TB and Infectious diseases at QIAGEN, emphasized the importance of TB screening for patients initiating Anti-TNF therapy, given the high risk of TB development. He highlighted the pivotal role of QuantiFERON in safeguarding patients from potential TB infections.
The event demonstrated AFMS and QIAGEN's dedication to advancing precision testing and innovative solutions to combat TB, contributing to improved patient care and public health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
